Alma - Superstar! :)

Okay, I have some cute pictures to show you all of Alma dancing. Some of them are at practice, and the others where she is all dressed up are at the Dance Revue they had a couple weeks ago. I have a video of her dancing, but I tried to post it and couldn't figure it out, but I will! It's actually recorded on my Dad's camera so as soon as I can get to that camera and figure it out, you will all be able to see it, it is way cute!!!

She really did a good job at the Revue. I was nervous because they had a practice performance for the senior citizens and she was so scared. I tried to explain what would happen and so she wouldn't be so nervous, but it didn't work. As we were going out to the car she was screaming "I don't wanna go!!!" over and over. So I tried to calm her down and we finally agreed that she could sit on my lap and then decide if she wanted to do her dance with the other girls. Well, luckily they had ice cream surprise and that fixed everything!! Thank goodness for icecream!! otherwise it may have been a very tramatic experience! just kidding, I'm sure she would have been fine, it would have just taken a little more convincing...or bribing :) Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

A Fun Visit from Family

Well, this is extremely late, but a few weeks ago Uncle David, Aunt Sarah, and (as Alma says)"Best Friend" Zach came to visit us here in Utah all the way from Pennsylvania! We had a lot of fun with them and are glad they took the time to come visit us as they traveled across the country. The cute picture of the girls on the side is one they took, and I'm going to add a few from Sarah's blog because I haven't put ours on our computer yet. Besides her pictures came out way cuter! Anyway, thanks again, guys, for coming to visit! We very much enjoyed it! We love you guys!!
Okay, so this was the first hike Josh took us on. It wasn't too bad, except when we got to the "top" it started pouring rain! so we hurried as fast as we could to get down the mountain. This is a way cute picture of Alma and Zach with the beautiful rainbow that followed the storm. Alma's hair tells the story :)

Now, this is the second (and last for some of us!) hike we went on. Josh insisted that the first hill was the worst and the rest was downhill...oh, he also said there wasn't much snow....hmmm interesting. Obviously there was snow, and I swear, we didn't start going downhill until we turned around to go back to the car! Thanks Sarah and Zach for suggesting we (not including Josh and David of course) go to Jackson Hole to finish out the day. The girls were very happy with that decision (and so was I!) Anyway, Josh and David had a fun rest of the day up there and we enjoyed ourselves in Jackson.

Alma was the smart one and hitched a ride with Uncle David for a good part of the day!

When I told Alma that they were coming to visit she said, "Zach?...He's my BEST friend!!" I thought this was a cute picture that shows how she feels :)

We went shopping and there was an underground fountain that kids can play in. Of course I couldn't keep the girls out of it! Zach and David had fun playing with them too! They really had a good time playing!

Flying Kites and Playing at the Park

These pictures are from last Sunday. Both of the girls got kites for Easter and this was our first chance to fly them. It was such a beautiful day, with the perfect amount of wind for kite flying. The girls loved it! It was so nice for all of us to be outside together just having fun.


Alma was so cute. She was so excited. She thought she had to run continually to keep the kite up, so she was running all around as fast as she could go. And while she was running, she said, "This is my best kite-flying day!" It was fun to see both their reactions.



While Alma insisted on doing it all by herself, Saralyn was content to sit with Daddy and have him help her with her kite. She also had fun going back and forth to make sure everyone was doing okay. Saralyn's is the small green and blue one. When you can see it, it is an owl. Alma's is the ladybug.


After we finished with the kite flying, we let the girls play on the toys for a while. They had a blast! and of course Daddy had to get in on the action!

Fashion Statement?

Oh the joy when your kids decide to think for themselves. As Saralyn chose what she wanted to wear today she was faced with a dilemma when she found two beautiful pieces of clothing that she wanted to wear. I'm sure she was thinking, "Which one should I wear?" Well, instead of choosing just one, why not choose both and make a bold fashion statement? All I can say is it fits her personality! It's a good thing I have two great kids to keep me laughing!

Birthday Continued...

Well, while we didn't get to the decorating Alma wanted to do, we did have a nice relaxing day. And, boy, am I lucky. I got snow on my birthday! in April!!! No, I was not seriously excited about that, but hey, I guess that's what you get when you live in Utah, huh? Anyway, it was a fun day and when Josh got home he surprised me by having a babysitter set up and took me out for a nice dinner - which almost never happens! So I was happy.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well, today is my birthday! I was pleasantly surprised with some beautiful flowers this morning from family in Pennsylvania. Thank you sooooo much! They are beautiful and an awesome way to start out the day. I don't think my girls really understood at first that it is Mommy's birthday. Saralyn kept saying "no, mine" thinking it was her birthday (again). And we had been telling them that it was going to be my birthday soon, but when the flowers came, it looked like a light bulb came on in Alma's head and she said, "mommy, is it your birthday TODAY?" I said yes and then she said "oh, well we need to decorate!" I thought it was cute. Anyway, here's a picture of the pretty flowers and hopefully I will have more pictures to post later on.

Nature Walk

Josh and his buddies went out looking for antlers for a good part of the day on Saturday. So, although I had my friends Becky and Amanda to visit with, we were pretty much inside most of the day. So, on Sunday I told Josh that we had to get out of the house to do something so I wouldn't go crazy. Well, you might be surprised, but what did he suggest? A "nature walk" (haha). I, like you,thought, yeah sure. And if we happen to stumble across an antler I guess we will take it home. But believe it or not, we did not come home with a single antler! We just had a nice "walk" (hike would be more appropriate word for it) and enjoyed being outside because it was a beautiful day. So we were all happy and I'm sure it did us all some good.
Anyway, we didn't get too many pictures. But the family picture above was from that hike, and this is just one more of us walking together.
