Fishing for suckers :)

Okay, so don't get grossed out. I swear I washed his hands really, really good after this one. He had this sucker and somehow he ended up with it still in his hand as he was roaming around the house (he is usually confined to his high chair with food, especially sticky/messy food). And when it got quiet, I knew we were in trouble. So I went to find him and this is what I found...

If he could talk, I'm sure he would have said "trouble? not me, I'm just trying to get my sucker!" (I swear it IS a sucker, you may have to look close to see that)
And just for the record, no I didn't give it back to him :)

Thanks Aunt Mel and Uncle Ryan!

For Christmas Aunt Melody and Uncle Ryan sent the kids a plant kit with three different kinds of plants. It was a really neat gift and they begged and begged to plant them. Each of them had their own to plant and they have already started to sprout. The kids loved it! Here are some pictures of each of them going through the process.

Alma Preparing the dirt

At first she didn't know if she wanted to touch the dirt, but after she got into it she had a good time.

Adding the seeds

The finished project

Saralyn

She jumped right in as soon as she could and wasn't worried one bit about getting dirty :)

Planting the seeds

Finished!

Easton
Well, obviously, I helped him a little. He liked to feel the dirt, and strangely seemed to enjoy how it tasted :) He always has to taste everything anyway, but after he tasted the dirt, he seemed to want more, it was pretty funny.

Tasting the dirt

Tasting the dirt some more...I really didn't just let him sit there and eat it, but he's a fast little bugger! It was hard keeping his hands out! A little dirt won't kill him, right :)

Thanks again guys! And thanks to everyone else who sent such thoughtful gifts. The kids really had a fun Christmas :) We love you all!

First chocolate chip cookie...

I think it's safe to say he enjoyed it :)
