Camping Trip

This past weekend we decided it would be nice to get away from the heat and go up to the mountains where its cool and have some fun. So the girls and I got everything packed up and when josh got home from work, we took off.
Here we are sitting around the campfire

A pretty sunset picture

Easton was a little fussy, but when we sat him in this chair toward the fire, he was mesmerized as you can see

We went for a "little" walk which turned out to be a really long walk and decided to take a shortcut back to the car. In this picture, we are about halfway up the hill. It doesn't look very steep, but it was. Luckily, we survived and still had smiles on our faces :)

And of course, the girls' favorite part was picking flowers.

When they pick flowers, they often tell me "Remember when we got baby-sat at great-grandma's house? She always let us pick flowers to give to you". I don't think they will ever forget that. Neither will I. Every day that I would pick them up from there, if there were flowers to be picked- whether it be johnny jump-ups or apple blossoms, or whatever they could find- I would go home with a fresh bouquet of flowers :)
More scenery pictures

We tried to get a family picture, this is the best one we were able to get with the timer

Anyway, besides the many mosquito bites we got, we had a very nice time and it was fun to get a way for a little while.

Our Garden

Well, I posted when we planted our garden, and it has changed a lot since then!! It is growing so well and we are so excited! We were all out there together pulling weeds last week. The girls don't enjoy that part too much, but they do help. And they are so excited to see the plants growing.
Alma was very diligent at pulling the weeds. Even with a few complaints of "my legs hurt" or "I'm getting really tired" she still insisted that she pulled every weed in her row before the stopped.

Saralyn was a good helper too. Although she was easily distracted with the bugs that she found to play with, she did get her share of weeds pulled.

And little Easton was just happy to be out there with us!

This is one thing that got the girls really excited: when they could actually see the tomatoes on the plants starting to grow

And here is one that shows about half of the garden.

It has been so much fun to be able to have a place to actually plant our own garden. It is even kind of fun to have a yard to take care of and for the kids to play in. We love it!

First trip to Bear Lake for 2010

We love going to Bear Lake. The girls have been asking since spring when we are going to go. So, finally we had a free weekend and we packed up and went for the day. When we first got there, it was a bit cloudy and looked like it might rain. But after a while, the clouds went away and it was a beautiful sunny day :)
Just a few scenery pictures.

Easton's first feel of the cool water.

All the kids had a blast on the tubes.

Saralyn was very happy to be there!

Beautiful sunset on the way home

We all had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back again...soon!
