Easter

This year we celebrated Easter with the Briggs family.  The kids had lots of fun spending time with cousins coloring eggs, and then hunting for them ;)

Alma, Kylee, Uncle Tucker, Jordyn, and Saralyn being super creative with the egg dying

Now, where did they hide those eggs? (who knows if there are any still out there)

They were pretty impressed with themselve and all the eggs they found

Counting up the eggs, "did we get them all?"
We all enjoyed being able to relax and spend time together.   The weather was nice and we are glad we could go and enjoy :)

Friends

I took Saralyn and Easton on a walk with me in the evening and this is how they looked when we got home...ahh how sweet.  Sometimes they don't think so, but they really do like eachother :)

Memorial Day Weekend

Well, last year I think I said I didn't want to go camping on Memorial Day if it was going to be snowing, and this year, it was supposed to rain, not snow, and be pretty nice....yeah right.  Two days and 4 inches of constant snow and rain later....I think we should postpone a week or two :)  anyway, even with the snow, it was nice to be together and we made it work.  We were the only ones in the tent, and thank goodness the others were willing to share their trailer space to keep us all warm.

My dad got this puppy for his birthday from my brothers, and Easton couldn't get enough!

We were able to borrow this 4-wheeler from a friend and it was a lot of fun.  Whenever it wasn't raining or snowing, Easton was ready for a ride with daddy. I think he could have ridden it all day without complaint.

We tried to keep the fire going all the time, and whenever the rain/snow would break for a few minutes, we would get out and sit around the fire...after all, it's not camping unless you smell like a campfire when you go home, right?

Dad trying to get the chainsaw going so we would have plenty of firewood.

My little bro, Tucker.  I don't know if he's smiling cuz he's happy or because he relieved to finally have a nice day :) Probably both.

And Tyler....well, no explanation needed :)

My sister Megan, her baby Kenzly, and my sister-in-law JoyAnne, getting things packed up.

The whole family (Great Grandma Anderson was taking the picture.) Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Josh, easton, Alma, Kerrilyn, Saralyn, Megan, Kenzly, Jordyn, Brandon, Kylee, Scott, JoyAnne, Tucker, Tyler.  I'm so glad that we enjoy getting together and having a good time.  I hope we always will :)

Chicks!

Last weekend we were in town and saw some baby chicks. We all thought they were so cute but that was the end of it...or so we thought. This weekend, Josh wanted us to go back and look at the chicks again, and we decided to get some for ourselves! The kids, of course were so excited! I was a little more skeptical, like where are we going to keep them, whose going to clean up after them...etc. But he assured me that he had talked with his friend, who also has chickens, and said that they are low maintenance and not too expensive to care for. He also added that the kids would learn something from taking care of them.

We've only had them for a day, but they are really cute and the kids think they are the luckiest kids in the world :) I think it will be a good experience--a new one for all of us, but it will keep life interesting for a little while :)
It's almost like having a new baby...they are forever asking "can we hold them now? Can we touch them?"
I love the look on Easton's face in this one "I'm holding it!!"
Alma loves them, but doesn't quite love how their feet tickle her hands when she holds them. She like to have her hands covered with something. I'm sure she'll get used to it :)
Saralyn just can't get enough!
Easton thought it was pretty cool when the chick was just standing on his lap. He also gets a little nervous when they squirm around on his hand, but he hates it when we put them back in their box :)

Christmas

My next few posts are going to be out of order, but there are a few things from the past year I would like to share and I decided the order isn't important, as long as I get them posted.
Christmas this year was a lot of fun. My parents rented a cabin for all of us to go to for our Christmas present this year. We had never done something like this, but we talked about it, planned it, and it actually worked out really well! We had a blast and it was so much fun all being together away from home. We went to Island park (near west yellowstone)and the cabin was awesome. We didn't have snow at home, but there was sure a lot of snow there! And we all enjoyed having a white Christmas.
This is a picture of the first night we were there. My dad was playing a game with the grand kids--which was surprising because we have to beg, and beg, and beg him to play a game with us adults--we probably just aren't as fun :)

The kids had a blast playing outside in the snow, and it was COLD! But they stayed out for a long time before they would come in from being cold. The cousins don't get a lot of time to play together, so they really took advantage of being together:)

We went into the town of West Yellowstone on christmas eve, there was hardly anyone else out and about, but it was fun walking around a bit. This is a picture of us at the Idaho/Montana border.

Also on Christmas, everybody got new jammies. My brothers were warning us that they had gotten speedo-type jammies, trying to scare us. And we were scared, believe me! But when they came down, this is what we saw...

They were actually footie pjs. How they found their sizes? I don't know, but I'm glad they did because we all laughed for a very, very long time! And the kids were glad that Santa and his elves decided to show up :)

A few pictures of christmas morning, lounging and opening presents.

Since all the guys got the same gift, they had to close their eyes before opening them.

We also went sledding later in the day.

Easton had fun whether he was sitting watching, or going down the hill with one of us. He was just happy to be there.

And finally, on the way home we were able to get some pictures of Josh's favorite scenery--The Tetons. Seriously like every 3 seconds he would ask me or the kids, "can you see them now?", "look over there girls, do you see them?" "Sara, do you see those big peaks?" "YES dad, we see them, ok???" Pretty funny. The pictures aren't great, as they were out the car window as we were driving, but they are beautiful.

Before we left, we had some pre-christmas fun with our family in Pennsylvania. We skyped with them so the kids could open their presents and talk with them a little. We miss you guys so much!

We hope everyone enjoyed Christmas as much as we did! We wish everyone the best in this brand new year :)
